Fauzi Azar 12/29
Okay, so I’d like to say that I woke up with a “it’s a brand new sunshiney day!” attitude like I can usually do, but it didn’t happen. The three of us women in the co-ed dorm room were astounded by the apparent lack of consideration of others from the two male roomies. Is it totally impossible to do things quietly at 7:30AM especially when you are sleeping in a room with six other people?! Apparently so.

I woke up and checked my foot...yup it was swollen, but functional. There were no pharmacies near to get an ace wrap or something to help so I donned my boots for ankle support, popped some more advil, went down for the Israeli yummy breakfast and waited for the free tour. I was not giving up.
I won’t go into detail, but the tour was long, too long, but did take us to some decent sites like a spice market where they were grinding their own spices and a gambling/tea house where we had wonderful cinnamon orange tea.

I got back after noon and decided to nap and ice the ankle. I was woken up two hours later by my new neighbor, from Sweden, Christina. She had just come from Jerusalem and was heading to Tzfat. As we got to chatting, I surprised myself and offered her a ride with me the next day so she didn’t have to take the bus. Tomorrow was going to be my birthday and up until now I was relishing having a day alone, but suddenly I was excited about having some company and a co-pilot.
I went out for one last look around town for the afternoon. The guy at the front desk insisted I go to the rooftop of the seven sisters convent which I did...meh. Frankly, I was over Nazareth and ready to go. I ended my day with a nice meal and headed back to the hostel to pack up and gear up for Tzfat and a trip to the Golan heights.
Sorry, but the best thing about this little town was the Fauzi Azar hostel.
